Hein Groenewald obtained his Baccalaureus Legum (LLB) degree at the Rand Afrikaans University in 2000. After completing his articles and being admitted as an attorney of the High Court, he commenced as an associate at Dewar Attorneys, Johannesburg. Dewar Attorneys’ litigation department was sold to Van Der Elst Attorneys where Hein was an associate until he commenced with his own practice as an attorney.
In 2004 Greef Gronewald was established, specialising in civil and commercial litigation. The firm partnered with a Belgium law firm in 2007 for South African projects.
In 2010, Hein commenced with his pupillage and successfully passed the National Bar Examination through the Pretoria Society of Advocates where he so practised for a period of 10 years. Thereafter, he commenced at the Hazeldean Advocates Group.
During his 17 years in the legal profession, Hein has worked in insurance law, administration and gambling law, commercial law and Road Accident Fund litigation.
